Please could someone with a home with 7 or more bedrooms with a rebuild value of approx £1.5 million please advise with whom you have buildings insurance? We have been given quotes of approx £2700 which I think is a little steep? Thanks in advance!

Try Hiscox. Don't laugh when they ask you if you have any garden statues valued at £10,000 or more!

NFU Mutual

Thanks. Tried an online quote with Hiscox and they need to talk in person so will try tomorrow. But us £2700 realistic?

Go with Hiscox or NFU. DH used to work for Hiscox and the claims service was amazing - NFU have a good service, but not quite the same as Hiscox

We've only got 4 beds, but we are insured for 1 million rebuild (which is excessive really), and our home and contents is under £500. Direct Line.
