Dear lovely mumsnetters. I have a reasonably sized garden in suburbia, and its 'design' is doing my head in (pictures attached). We would like to make it look a lot nicer without doing too much structural work, and I was wondering whether you guys had some suggestions. We are currently taking out the gravel on the left to increase our lawn space. I've rounded up some facts below, to paint a better picture.
- Any work we do will have to be done by DH and myself. This is a hobby project. We are willing to spend money on planting and some building materials, but not on labour.
- We have 1 dog who occasionally goes nuts in the garden (8 month old).
- My husband is handy and tenacious, but is hesitant to learn new skills. I'm am not handy, but I am tenacious and always want to learn new skills. We have no time limit for this project.
- It would be really difficult for us to get rid of that weird stone paving at the back of the garden.
