Replacing kitchen with IKEA units but they don’t do a unit for under mounted Belfast sink. Has anyone had this problem ? Please let me know if you have a solution

I have, but it's not what you want to hear - don't do it! Awful things Belfast sinks. Things chip or break if you drop them in the sink. The sink itself can chip. And so on.

I was wondering about that as I’ve seen a few comments on stainless steel being a preference. I think I need to look again at the options as it could be an expensive mistake. Thank you

Are you using a non-IKEA sink (i.e. not the Havsen sink they do?)

I’m having quartz worktops and under mounting the sink ..unfortunately the ikea one sits on top and can’t be glued under

Sounds nice! I think quartz worktops are great.

It definitely seems like something people have managed to overcome with a bit of DIY. So I assume someone with a bit of joinery expertise would be able to come up with something.

Sorry there are two separate links. One to blog post and one to a YouTube video - they seem to have run together a bit.

Thank you ; that is really helpful . I have a ‘handy man’ building and fitting the units, this is a great solution for someone who’s good with a saw ( not me ) ! 😃

Glad it might be useful!

I had our kitchen refurbished and swopped a standard sink with draining board, for a double Belfast sink; I use on half for draining. Our joiner remodelled the doors, fitted the sink and then built us an oak worktop.

I've got a stainless steel Belfast sink , it's great , really practical.

Was the sink unit custom mad or did you have to modify?
