Can we offer without selling?

Our dream house is on the market and has been since September however there is now a £100k price drop. We haven't sold yet. Will they laugh in our faces if we offer subject to us selling?

Depends how desperate they are.

CoffeeConnoisseur · 07/04/2019 15:58

If they’re happy with what you offer they might tell you it’s acceptable - once you’re in a position to proceed.

But they’ll likely continue taking viewers in the meantime and certainly won’t agree to take it off the market.

Is yours even on the market yet?

Isn’t that normally what people do? You offer and try to sell your houses however there will probably be a lot of interest now that the price drop has happened so you may have competition

AllTheFunAndGames · 07/04/2019 16:03

Is your house on the market? You can't proceed without funding. Are you in an area where you will sell quickly?

pilates · 07/04/2019 16:11

No, you put your house on the market and get a buyer and then start looking. Can’t see the point otherwise.

bilbodog · 07/04/2019 16:11

As people have said you could offer and best outcome is that your offer will be accepred when you are also under offer. If you are on the market lower your price to get more interest. Good luck.

GeorgeTheFirst · 07/04/2019 16:12

You can offer. But why would they accept if you can't proceed?

jamtart30 · 07/04/2019 16:19

Yes we're on the market but literally only went on this week.

Just go for it, the worst that could happen is they say no!

mangocoveredlamb · 07/04/2019 17:39

We did.
We agreed on a price that was acceptable and then desperately tried to sell ours (to someone who hadn’t sold and on it went).
We were lucky as our seller wanted the house to go to a local family who would raise kids in the village as they had done so we’re prepare to hang on.
It all worked out for us in the end!

WBWIFE · 07/04/2019 17:54

We agreed on asking price and gave them 2 weeks to sell. They put their house on the market an dsold within a week!
