Quote for structural calculations and drawings

Just want some vague idea of if this is right or not. We’re having a garage converted and our architect got a quote for a structural engineer to do the calculations for two steels (one on an internal wall, one on an external wall) and the drawings for building regs as £500 including vat. Does that sound about right to anyone who’s had similar work done? I can get other quotes but that takes time, so just wanted to try and figure out if this was reasonable or not!

Probably about right - we paid almost double for a large ground floor extension

That is good value. Structural engineers are incredibly cheap for the work and knowledge involved.

Thank you! It sounded about right. Architect is a locally respected company so I trust their recommendation. We’re in Yorkshire which is probably why it’s slightly cheaper overall. Will go for it, thank you!
