Will I need to get a new floor?

Currently planning a new kitchen for new house we're moving into in a few weeks. We are changing the configuration from a peninsular to an island and putting a sink in the island.

This is the first time I've done anything like this so a bit clueless. It is very likely that we'll need a whole new floor to account for change of shape (eg colour of tiles under current peninsular might not match the rest since it's been covered, or might be damaged etc) and need to dig under floor to connect sink plumbing? Or can they life the tiles of fairly easily?!

I like the current flooring (some kind of warm under foot tile-not sure what it's made of, perhaps vinyl) so would like to keep it if I can...
