Mortgage & maternity leave

Good Afternoon,

When I go back to work from maternity leave we are looking to move and remortgage. Due to me being on maternity for a year I won't have a pay sleep for the last 3 months. Will I have to wait until I have been back working for 3 months before I can remortgage or will they take into account the overall time I have been there and the fact my pay will recommence.

Total non-issue with many mortgage companies - it's a very popular time in life to move. Our bank just needed a letter from our HR dept conforming my usual salary and the date on which I would be returning to work.

Same here - we remortgaged our flat as a BTL and bought our new family home whilst I was on maternity and it didn't make any difference at all. In fact you're probably more secure in your job whilst on maternity, you're just not receiving the money!!

posted too soon......
I had to provide the last 3 months payslips from before I went on maternity.

We applied for a mortgage just as I was going back to work and a letter from confirming when I was going back and what I would be earning was absolutely fine for the bank.
