Relocating!

Hi all, we are a family of 5 currently living in Luton where we are renting at the moment but we plan to buy a house before the year runs out. pls we need your advice on a better area between Notthinghamshire and Leicestershire . any certain town or city around ?
all your advice will be appreciated
