Hi has anyone bought an ikea kitchen or used the ikea kitchen fitters? Any good? Am I better off organizing my own kitchen fitter? Thanks

I don't know but i often read in the property bits of the papers of people using ikea cupboards and their own doors and surfaces.

I love my Ikea kitchen but it drove me demented fitting it all together. So. Many. Tiny. Boxes. Of. Stuff. Haven't tried their fitting service but for a kitchen bigger than mine (postage stamp) I would opt for someone else assembling.

I zhoozhed up their cheapest doors (Haggeby) with nicer handles, a Worktop Express wood worktop and a fancier tap. If money had been no option I'd've gone for Superfront doors and drawers too and just used Ikea for the structure. I do love the drawer within a drawer system.

I think Diy kitchens quality is much better and range of sizes as well... they have a very limited range - we have them in teh utility as just needed a couple (v small space) tall one and they were cheapest optioin but nowhere near as good
be careful when designing/pricing up
when I priced up my design with them because i needed lots of filler bits it soon added up and was no difference in price

eg my wall was 2.7m long - ikea only do 40/60/80 cm wide so couldnt get a neat fit...diy had 900 so just 3 cabinets no filler better use of space

I have IKEA kitchen and it's lovely! The design and measure service was great too.
But i didn't use their fitters.

Our fitters said they wouldn't fit IKEA kitchens... I think it was to do with them not having a service gap at the back. Having said that, everyone I know who has bought an IKEA kitchen thinks they are really good.
