Help with house plans.

We are at the planning stage of a new house build and not sure about the configuration and gettting in a tizzy with it now.

I am not sure where to put the kitchen really. Was going to out on the left and side ( it will be a bit wider than shown - 320 by 320) with easy access outside via the doors. Or put it at the back in the right hand corner?

My thought are:
If it is on the left easy access to garden and we will be eating outside a lot. ( warm climate). We mainly eat outside or at an island so plan to be eating at the penninsula or outside.

However the space at the back then could be the living area ( dh's preffered option) possibly a bit small - we have a large sette and would need a chair.
Or is this better as the dinning area - we would only use the dining table on rare occasions ( less than 10 times a year) we tend to eat at an island atm and I would like te based mainly in the kitchen during the day.

I am happy enough with the entrance area. Small toilet and utility area and cupboard under stairs.

There are normally only two or us.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

So is the whole ground floor essentially going to be open plan or is there part of the plan not shown?

The kitchen space and living space look too small compared to the dining space. The proportions don't seem to work somehow.

Is the position of the stairs fixed? I wouldn't like them open to the living room (though appreciate french homes are often like that).

Thanks Green, yes it is all open plan. I agree about dining space, i am probably going to put them the other way round. I.e have the dining space at the back. This was my dh's preferred plan but i was not sure and now you have said it is clear.

The stairs were originally at the back but this was gave us more space upstairs.
