Shower- pentagon shaped

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a pentagon shaped shower enclosure fitted? My bathroom guy said he'd only ever fitted 1 in his whole career - are they that unusual?! I think they look much nicer than the curved ones

Sounds ok but I've never seen one. Would it be in the middle of the bathroom? I'm wondering how it would fit against a wall.

SpoonBlender · 25/03/2019 14:37

They're usually square with a corner lopped off, not a regular pentagon :)

RockyRocky · 25/03/2019 14:41

This! So in the corner, and yes- the sides aren't equal length! It's for a very small shower room

It’s an irregular pentagram. And yes, I’ve just googled pentagrams.

Literally reading this post while watching yesterday's homes under the hammer and saw this.

So, not a hexagon at all!

llangennith · 26/03/2019 12:20

Or a pentagon 🙈

Tunnockswafer · 26/03/2019 12:22

Have just realised I said pentagram not pentagon. This thread is driving me crazy!

We have a very small ensuite but it's quite square and has a window which restricts the shower unit size so we just went for a smallish square one. It looks okay to me and would give a bit more elbow room I guess.

flirtygirl · 26/03/2019 13:21

They look nice and give more space than a square. I like them.

You actually watch HUTH on catch up? I'm not sure why, but that made me laugh :o

ShakespearesSisters · 26/03/2019 14:46

I've got it on series link, it's my guilty pleasure with a cup of tea after the morning school run so I'm a day behind. I spend my time going "how did they do all that for the amount they said?"

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/03/2019 15:31

I only ever see it if I'm off work for any reason but it always seems to be the same episode... :o

Don't they have less space as the corner of the square is cut off? Or is the square a lot bigger to begin with IYSWIM.

Alabasterangel6 · 26/03/2019 16:55

I have one and it was to replace the curved one in a small ensuite and def takes up less space. Just bear in mind which way you want it to open though as these have a hinge opening door and need space to open to allow you to get in, unlike the curved sliders. Its also better because somehow you get more elbow space for shampooing your hair!

BubblesBuddy · 26/03/2019 17:10

They don’t give more space in the shower area. We had one - now long gone! They give more floor space. If you don’t need the circulation space in the bathroom, stick with the biggest shower you can fit. The one you describe is easy to fit - just more panels of “glass” with a central door.

BubblesBuddy · 26/03/2019 17:11

Sorry - that should read not more space over a standard square or rectangle.

RockyRocky · 26/03/2019 19:51

Thanks all! I spent today driving around different bathroom stores in the local towns trying to find one in real life- without success. I just want to stand in one and pretend to wash my hair!! I've drawn out the shape on the floor, but it's not the same.

Love HUTH. Used to watch it while breastfeeding baby number 1. Unfortunately now with baby 2 and house renovations, I no longer have time for daytime TV Sad

It's more floor space which we're after- it's not the main shower room (our house has 3 tiny bathrooms). I'm planning a nice walk in shower for the en suite.
