What paint?

Was looking to buy my DD a pikler triangle for her birthday, I have found a business who makes their own version but not painted or anything, so a little cheaper than the original pikler. I have ordered one and would like to paint it to make it colourful but what paint is safe to use, any recommendations? My DD is almost 1 so tends to bite things alot, so high probability she will put her mouth on it.

you can get water-based "nursury" paints in an assortment of bright colours. High Street hardware shops may have them, or DIY sheds. If not, I'm sure a paint merchant could get them.

Modern household paints don't contain lead, and water-based don't contain solvents. I wouldn't expect them to be toxic. if they're on general sale in the EU. A few special-purpose paints, such as corrosion-resistant industrial primers, or Hammerite, or marine paints, will have safety warnings.

You can usually see the HSE data sheet if you look at the paint manufacturers website. It will probably say "don't drink it" and "wear a mask if spraying."
