Hi all. I’m returning to London after an extended maternity leave with two children aged 5 and 2. Have just been offered a full time job for Bexley Council, based around Bexleyheath. Could anybody advise as to where are the better areas around Bexleyheath to move in to?We own a house in Downham, BR1 and have had a pretty awful experience with neighbourhood and safety and are planning to rent something to begin with. Would like to be close to a decent primary school. Many thanks in advance.

I would say station area and south of the Broadway / crook log around upton road are nice. Broadway area is noisy Friday / sat nights you probably want to be at least a street away. Lots of people like the quieter areas west and north of the station area -off long lane and Brampton road but for me they are a bit remote from shops, danson park, leisure options. Upland primary is good, both in the ofsted sense and from my experience.
