Drying Tshirts?

Hi all!

Random one but how do you dry your tshirts? I have two issues...

If I lay them over an airer, I get the lines where the bars have been and struggle to iron these out (same as with jumpers!)

If I hang them up to dry, they stretch!

Any advice?

I use airers or peg out on the line if nice. Never got lines from the airer that wouldn't iron out and they seem to dry quick enough outside so they don't stretch. How many rungs of the airer do you tend to drape them over?

Normally 2 rungs - depends on how much there is to hang up!

Can you do a faster spin in the machine? This would get more water out & the T-shirt would be lighter

What is your washing machine spin speed? DH is 6'3" so none of his t shirts are tumble dried just in case they shrink.

Our spin speed is 1400. never had the issues you say.

Our iron is steam generator, cuts through everything.

Always tumble for 10 mins then hang on hangers - or hang on line then tumble to finish drying

Thanks Dolly - I'll give that a go! I just don't want things to shrink in the TD!

Has your TD got a delicates setting? I find that gentry dries most of my things without shrinking, then they just need to be hung up v briefly (or spread out over the spare bed) to finish drying.

I wash them on synthetic cycle , spin 900 and then also dry them on hangers. I put the most precious ones on easy iron while washing.

Put a towel under them and either dry flat on an airer (you can also buy a thing to fit across the airer for this) or on towel on a thick radiator rail but if you do that you need to move them around so you don't get any line at all.

I have some pegs with hooked ends and a tall radiator so I hook a couple of pegs over the brackets at the top and peg the shoulders, radiator dries them quickly, no lines but slight marks on the shoulders which drop out when worn.
