Composite door in this colour?

It’s just popped into my head this morning that I want a pink front door Shock

Would this be ridiculous?

My street has lots of pastel colour doors they look lovely but they suit the houses and he street

Mydressinggownismybestfriend · 19/03/2019 08:53

Mine is just an ex LA so I’m not sure, maybe it wouldn’t pull it off. I agree some houses and streets probably suit them more than others.

I want a pink front door too (just trying to persuade dh!) but mine is wood so I can always repaint. With composite I would be more tempted to play it safe I think as it’s an expensive mistake if it doesn’t work out.

GemmeFatale · 19/03/2019 09:46

Take a photo of your house and do a quick edit changing the door to pink. It won’t give you the exact look but it should be enough to see if it would work.

Personally I’m on team do it!

PickAChew · 19/03/2019 09:50

It depends on the style of your house.

Apparently you're romantic!

IncrediblySadToo · 19/03/2019 09:57

LOL each to their own.

It really does depend on the house.

Why not upload a photo of a similar house & street?

Mydressinggownismybestfriend · 19/03/2019 10:18

My OH Is saying no. Makes me want it even more Grin

Spiritinabody · 19/03/2019 11:18

I wouldn't unless it suited the house AND my DH agreed. To pull the look off you need a certain type of house. Need to see a picture of your house or similar to judge. What colour does your OH favour?

I dislike most shades of pink anyway although where rendered seaside or country properties are painted in pastel colours including pink, I do think they look lovely.

LemonBreeland · 19/03/2019 11:23

Most ex LA houses are red brick, not sure that and pink would work. It does depend on the style and look of the building though.

Bluntness100 · 19/03/2019 11:45

I think it could look lovely, but suspect you need the type of house it would work with, sandstone, or white render, so it all comes down to what the outside of the house looks like.

Mydressinggownismybestfriend · 19/03/2019 11:51

Mine is roughcasted - will probably be redone so could get that done any colour really!

Don’t really want to post a pic as it’s awdul right now Blush

Is it definetly being redone, or possibly? I would make a decision on the rough casting before I made a decision on the door if it's definite. If there is a chance you won't get it done, then I'd make my mind up ether way now, and then decide on the door.
