Out buyer has suggested 5w between exchange and completion. Quick search suggests I have to insure the property form the day of exchange.

Anyone else thinks this is a long time better Exchange and completion?
What is the normal gap?
I'm uneasy about committing to this..

I have had exchange to completion gaps that ranged between 6 days and 6 months!

I don't think 5 weeks sounds excessive

5 weeks sounds good to me! Plenty of time to sort out movers and all the other things that come with moving. I found my insurers offered the exchange to completion insurance free of charge, but I don't know if I have just been lucky with who was cheapest (legal and general for me).
