Extractor fan and bathroom

I’ve just had an extractor fan fitted in my bathroom (there is also a window in there)

It’s just blown because of a leak from above - and the electrician who checked it also told me the fan is venting directly into the loft.

I know this is bad practice but Does anyone know if buikding regulations allow an extractor fan to vent directly into the loft?

Thanks

dont know if its against building regs but it should be - basically just movjng the condensation from bathroom to loft doesnt seem a good idea

Yes it's against building regulations but that's irrelevant, the real problem is it's dropping loads of hot steamy air into a freezing cold space with lots of timber in it, which is a recipe for damage and rot. Just get it fixed and sealed properly and don't worry about the regs side.
