What's the best website to buy appliances online?

Maybe it depends what appliances you buy from AO, have had a couple of bad experiences with their washing machine fitters/deliveries. Paid extra for fitting but seems they just want to drop off, excuses e.g washing machine plumbing wonky ?! So had to call plumbers in even though the old machine had previously been plumbed into it... another time told me to go and get a part myself and plumb it it.... Long story but basically put me off AO for life. Try elsewhere.

These were great when I bought my tumble dryer last year https://www.rdo.co.uk/
Got a phone call soon after placing the order online and regular email updates until delivery. And their price was competitive.

I have always had fab service from ao.com

AJPTaylor · 15/03/2019 18:19

Apart from the feckin calls trying to push their warranties.

Or deals from John Lewis, Argos, Currys. Check total price with delivery and recycling because those costs vary.

Thanks everyone!

I used

www.applianceelectronics.co.uk

Fridge freezer was £250 cheaper than anywhere else and washing machine was £100 cheaper

So I basically got the washing machine for free.

wowfudge · 15/03/2019 19:58

Boots have a tie in with AO - if you order from the Boots electricals site you can get Advantage points and ao fulfil the order.

I've used Marks Electricals and the Co-op too. If you decide on a particular make and model and shop around there are some really good deals around.

dirtystinkyrats · 15/03/2019 22:05

We just ordered 3 big alliances and the cheapest was Currys as they had a discount code, plus cash back on one of the appliances. I also thought it was more likely they would sort out any problems for me if anything went wrong.

Boots appliances, they use AO but you get advantage points back. We got a washing machine from them a few weeks ago and a fridge freezer just over a year ago. Briliant delivery, we could track how many more stops till they got to us, we got a txt at 7am with a timeslot and then the tracking narrowed it down to within an hour.

I’ve just found FreeNet Electrical. Had never heard of them but bought a Miele vacuum cleaner for £205 that was £240 everywhere else. Service was really fast, it arrived the day after I placed the order. I’d definitely use them again.
