Hi everyone, may I ask any feedback on mill
Hill area? We have 2 young toddlers (6 and 3.5). How's that area for the young family? Any feedback is highly appreciated! Thank you!

It's lovely and a great, safe location for family. There is s fabulous, children's farm and cafe and lots of nice cafes and restaurants locally. It is also surrounded by good areas and quick commute in to central London.

Assume you mean the London Mill Hill and not the one up North.

It is ideal for families. Good schools, parks and open spaces. Activities, Facebook Groups (Mill Hill Families is one). Close to Central London and Herts.

Oh, there is still a Library too.

I think it's fantastic. Loads of groups and leisure facilities for families. Good transport links. You have quite a few good school choices.

Thank you everyone for your kind replies. The property price seems cheaper than the muswell hill area as these two are my main considerations. I can find quite a lot of reviews regarding with the muswell hill but not much about the mill hill.

How's the schools in mill hill?

I know the schools have a good reputation, but can't tell you much about them. I know that people want to move to our catchment area in order to get into Courtlands, so you could do some checking on that one, Mill Hill County is another, and there is a Jewish school near the top of Mill Hill Broadway (used to be a garden centre). Google will give you the names of the others.

Parts of Mill Hill cheaper than others and Mill Hill East is getting a facelift, used to be Army Barracks there and now lots of new homes, and Waitrose is that side.

Mill Hill quite big, so there is a vast choice of prices, it is not as packed in as Muswell Hill, which is more trendy and hipstery, and I think overpriced, probably due to Alexander Palace being there. We looked at it and rejected it on the grounds that a small terraced house cost waaay too much. It is also a bit further from Central London.

If you need a mainline station it is by The Broadway, underground is Mill Hill East, plenty of buses. Lots of places to eat in The Broadway too.

Sorry, should be Alexandra Palace.

Also, for later on there is Haberdasher's Aske school.

Actually, this might help www.google.com/search?q=mill+hill+schools&oq=Mill+Hill+schools&aqs=chrome.0.0l6.6393j1j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Thank you all for your useful replies! DH needs to work in Marylebone area. How's the commute? Sorry I have never stayed in UK before. A lot of questions indeed!

Gorgeous area, perfect for a young family. Good cafes. Good schools, good parks, lots of toddler groups.

It’s absolutely fine for Marylebone. He can either take the 113 bus pretty much all the way there which is a bit slow or take the Thameslink to West Hampstead and then nip on the tube to Baker Street and walk to Marylebone, whole journey would be about 30 minutes so very easy.

That sounds fantastic!!!!! Thank you very much! Will definitely look into this area more closely as I just registered my both kids for Belmont and Grimsdell (mill hill). Any feedback about the mill hill independent school please?

Oops! Seems like I just put down the school related question into the property talk. Sorry about that!
