New Kitchen Planning - Please Show me Your Drawers!

Hello
Currently having hours/days of fun planning my new kitchen!
I’ve decided on a painted shaker style from DIY Kitchens. I put their units in my utility room a couple of years ago by way of testing their quality and am impressed with their solid build and range of cabinets.

My current kitchen is 14 years old, put in by ourselves, and has 2 600mm sets of drawers, each having 1 deep pan drawer. I feel I don’t have enough drawers in general and not enough deep drawers. I am planning one 600mm larder unit with 4 pullout internal drawers (which will be new) and will have one 1000mm shelved larder unit (will replace existing one).

L shaped kitchen with extra short larder run, approx 4.5 x 3.5m. I am considering doing away with base cupboards with the exception of the under sink unit, corner unit and a filler open shelved cupboard for books.

The drawers I’m considering would be one top cutlery drawer and two deep pan drawers per set. I would have room for 4 sets of 800mm drawers. People who have opted for mainly drawer storage, is this a good idea? Don’t want to regret having too many drawers (especially as they are so much more expensive).

I don’t put food in lower base cabinets at present and wouldn’t intend to, so drawers would be used for crockery, utensils, pans, casserole dishes, trays, gadgets and usual kitchen gubbins.

Please can I ask, what do you put in your drawers? Do you have loads and are you pleased you opted for them over cupboards? What are the pros and any big drawbacks? Any photos of organised drawers would be even better!

We have three 900mm 1 over 2 drawer units in our kitchen - DIY painted shaker put in about 18 months ago.

In one I have a full width cutlery tray with all the cutlery in, everyday crockery including mugs under that and pans in the bottom drawer as it's the nearest drawer unit to the cooker. I have some plastic peg boards I bought online set up to store pan lids vertically and stop things moving around in the drawer.

Next to that unit, the top drawer has various utensils, bag clips, etc and things are organised in trays I bought from IKEA and Homesense/TKMaxx. Under that I have things like sieves, plastic containers and the bottom drawer contains baking equipment - bowls, rolling pin, etc.

The third set of drawers has napkins and kitchen towels in the top drawer, the second one has a vertical plate rack for my posh crockery (it's brilliant) and in the bottom drawer I have serving dishes and plates.
