Where the fuck should the sofa go?! (With a terrible diagram!)

When I moved in to my apartment the layout was image 1. I thought it was silly and moved the 2 seater sofa out to the office and rearranged things to Image 2.

Now I need to put in a sofa bed in the office so probably need to move the 2 seater sofa out of there and bring it back to the living/dining room as otherwise it would be too cramped/look silly. I can do another terrible diagram of the office if needed...

So now where should the 2 seater sofa go? Should I move the TV unit to under the window and have the sofas running down both walls? It's a long but skinny room unfortunately.

I also can't get rid of any of the sofas or furniture as it comes with the apartment.

Everything I try just looks cramped and stupid, I wish I didn't have one of the sofas or the armchair Angry

Have you checked you can't get rid of any of the furniture. We have slowly given most of the stuff that came with the flat back to the landlord or sold it for him

Put the table closer to sideboard and the extra chair facing TV with its back to the table. Make a little TV area and separate it from the table area.

Two seater sofa across room next to the smaller table on left of drawing so room is divided into two areas. Move dining table closer to sideboard.

Okay I've moved the dining table down and put the 2 seater perpendicular to the 3 seater sofa, is that right?

I like the idea of separating it from the dining bit, but not sure if it will be annoying having to go around the singing table and the little sofa to sit down? Maybe I'll leave it like this for a day or two and see how it goes with daily life.

Unfortunately I can't give it back, have already checked!

Is there anywhere else the chair could go - bedroom, office? If so could you swap it out for the 2 seater?

GinaCarbonara · 12/03/2019 08:47

There isn't any space in the bedroom but I could try and see how it goes in the office once I get the sofa bed in. It's almost as if the room is just too small for all 3 and the dining table.

We have a very similar room and almost exactly the same layout as #2 (albeit we also have a fireplace next to the TV). We had the two seater sofa forming a divider between the sitting area and dining area for a while (and will probably go back to that) but it's currently under the window. It's a bit cramped because all our furniture seems to be massive but I think it works okay.
