Completion day part-ex

We are part exchanging for a new build.

What should I expect for completion day? They have already found someone that wants to buy our house so I don’t think we will be able to move in casually over a weekend.

Previously when we bought our first house (non new build and we weren’t in a chain), we got the keys at 12pm and all was well but with it being a new build and they are buying our house will it be different? Does anyone have any experience of part exchanging?

I work for a new build builders. Regardless of part exchange you can expect to complete as soon as the money has made its way from the bank to the builders. Normally lunch time.
You will normally leave your keys at an appointed estate agent not at the marketing suite on site.
However you could ask for a license to occupy which is the only way you could move over a weekend and not hand your keys in before collecting your new keys.
This normally has to be requested through the solicitor though or at least it does for the builder I work for
