I have an old radiator to dispose of. Is there a good alternative to taking it to the tip?

I put two outside my front door with the plan to take to the tip later, they were gone in an hour Grin

Good plan! I’ll try it.

Yep - was going to say the same. NDN had a new boiler fitted and the company arranged special pick up and disposal of the old one. Within half an hour of it being on the front drive it had gone and the pick up company were disappointed!

Yup. I had 11 radiators sat stacked in my drive after we gutted the house. I think it was about 20min before someone knocked and asked if they could take them.

We had 3 radiators put in the skip on Friday afternoon, they were gone by Saturday morning. To be fair the guys did knock and ask if they could take them as they were on our property!

I live in a cul de sac, at the very top
If I need to dispose of anything I just leave it at the end of my drive
I’ve never had anything left there for more than a couple of hours
I had a sort out of my shoes and left 6 pairs, all boxed, at the end of the drive
Cheeky buggers left the boxes but took the shoes

Came on to say the same as everyone else, radiators left in our front garden disappeared within an hour or so of them being left there.

What are these radiators used for? Can they be sold on eBay ?

wowfudge · 06/03/2019 10:48

They are sold to scrap metal merchants. Typically the guys who collect this stuff have a flat back van they load up. They also sit outside tips/recycling centres and collect metal items.
