Hi, we're in the middle of a kitchen extensions and have have had plans for kitchen drawn up. Last week we decided lighting for kitchen, spotlights and 3 pendants. Queried space around island, but agree positioning. Electrics been put in and ceiling has now been plaster boarded. Seriously thinking now we'd like to move island 30cm over pendants need to move to. Space around island is at minimum recommended. What would you do?? Leave it as it is or see if pendants and island could be moved?? Thanks!!

I moved my pendants yesterday - ceiling had been boarded and skimmed! Builders were happy to do it, but our guys seem happy to do what we need to make it what we want.
No clue on the island, but as far as I can see from ours we could moved it if we wanted - although we'd likely be charged for the additional electrician time to rejig any electrics on the island.
Best thing to do is to ask your builders. They'll advise either way.
Would moving the island, reduce the space to below the minimum advised, cause this I wouldn't advise - but that's cause i have two children running around, I wanted to make sure we weren't all squeezing past each other!!

Thanks for that. Yes we're moving it. Builder was happy to do so. Glad we have now as I think the space would've been far too small and we do have the space to move it.
