new bathrooms

Hi all,

I'm new to this so will keep it short and sweet.
We are wanting 2 new bathrooms, 1 being an ensuite. We initially budgeted £4k per room but have since found this seems to be a stretch. We were even told from a local business to not expect anything less than a base rate of £6,500 per room! They're only 2x2m each so not exactly huge.

Can anyone recommend places to buy from or how on earth to find something to fit in with our budget - is it even possible?

Keep the layout the same in both so you won't have to pay for changes in plumbing & electricity. Opt for cheap white metro tiles & do half walls rather than to the ceiling (go to ceiling around bath/in shower), waterproof vinyl click floor tiles rather than proper tiles, basic Dulux bathroom paint not F&B, etc etc. Curtain rod is cheaper than a shower screen.

Wait for the sales for big ticket items like loo, vanity, bath, shower. You don't have to buy all the suite from the same place, though your whites might mismatch a little – though honestly it's unlikely to be noticeable. Shop around: IKEA has lovely white bathroom sink units with drawers underneath.
