Can anyone suggest any stylish solutions to protecting a wooden floor from the wheels of an office-type chair please?

translucent mat

Yes I too have a translucent mat from ikea.

I also have a translucent mat although I’m not sure how stylish it is!

A plain opaque coloured mat might be more stylish?

Are you sure you need to protect the floor? I've had wooden floors in my study for about 3 years and my wheeled office chair, which I use every day, has not left any marks on it.

most important to keep the wheels, and the spindles they steer on, clean and free from dust, grit and fluff.

If they jam instead of turning freely, they will drag on the floor.

Office chair wheels can often be pulled off and replaced by new.
