Hello
I am in the process of putting a log cabin in my garden complete with toilet and I am currently deciding between a toilet which is linked to the sewer system (expensive) or a macerater style toilet like a Saniflo or other brand (cheaper option).
I have done a search on here and most are saying saniflo type toilets are really bad, however these are a few years old.
Please tell me your tales of good and bad points of macerater toilets.

Had one in the basement toilet. it flooded. Had to get the hazmat people in to clean up. Now have a toilet connected to the sewer system. I would pay the extra if I were you. Sewage is not something to mess with.

That sounds horrendous!! Was it recently? Hoping a newer model may be better?

We have one in our ensuite. It works well. The only issue I've had in 3 years is the toddler switching it off. Eurgh, everything came back up through the shower when I flushed the loo. Get the switch put up high rather than ground level like my electrician did.
I do make sure I use macerator cleaner every couple of months, got some off Amazon half the price of the saniflo stuff.
