Lounge ideas

We are redecorating the lounge. I’m thinking of cream corner sofa, cream carpet. Duck egg patterned wall paper in chimney recesses with other walls in pale duck egg emulsion. Darker duck egg curtains and lots of patterned cushions on sofa. Oak coffee table, tv unit etc. I’m useless at interior decorating. Does this sound like a terrible idea?!

Sounds lovely but I would include a pop of colour in cushions or other decorations so it doesn’t look all to samey and matching...

Sounds lovely but I would probably choose a more neutral shade for the curtains. We matched our lounge colour to our curtains and it is a bit much.

Add another colour ... my mothers house is just so so matchy. Blue patterned wallpaper, cushions, rugs, ornaments, pictures. Its awful and just needs something else to break it up!

Beware of cream sofa's, dye from jeans gives it a lovely blue tinge! I'd never go for cream again.

We've got cream sofas, but I wouldn't have had them if they hadn't got loose covers. If you haven't got children or pets you might be okay!

Ditto what's been said about jeans on a cream leather sofa and ditto what's been said about a pop of colour in cushions and accessories.

Cream carpet not a great idea - polish from shoes stains it.

I’d go a charcoal grey sofa to break it up a bit.
