Gaps in Mortar

I noticed recently that there are some small gaps in the mortar of my external brick walls. It looks like it should be pretty easy to sort.

I will only attempt it if it isn’t raining.

Any words of wisdom/warning?

How old is your house? If its victorian or older you might need to use lime mortar rather than modern cement.

60/70s. Definitely not lime mortar (one day!)
