Kitchen island

Odd question but how is a kitchen island attached to the floor? We'd want to move it and wondered how big a job it would be? Would it just be a case of retiling where it used to be?

It sits on the tiles in our kitchen but it's fixed, part of the fixtures and fittings so forms part of the kitchen for moving purposes so it would stay

Totally depends. Ours sits on the sub floor and flooring was done around it. Others are put in after the floor is done.

Yes you could re tile but it would likely look weird as the tiles would have been cut to butt up to the island under the kickboards and so the pattern wouldn’t necessarily flow once the gap is filled in if that makes sense

Apologies for the miswording. There's an island in the new house we're buying and we would want to reposition it in the room.

How easy is it to retile part of a floor if the vendors can tell me the tiles they used?
