Hello,

Does anyone have experience of having Slimlite fitted on their windows? Did it improve heat loss? Any cons to it?

Thank you!

Slimlite improved heat. I think bushy seals on the parting/staff beads did more than the glass itself but others say differently and swear by it.

Cons

  1. No more crown/cylinder wobbly glass
  2. Rubbish for sound proofing any low/medium frequency sounds.
  3. if being retro fitted that can prematurely fail due to drainage/putty.
  4. if you’ve got a sash with a small pocket the additional weights may stop you opening the window fully.

I’ve got it on a few windows. Won’t spec it for my other windows, I’d rather replace with proper 24mm+ glazed sash/Secondary glaze.

Thanks so much for the response.

We've got small-paned 1930s windows and the tradesman we had put said Slimlite was probably our only option. I'd never heard of it and wasn't sure if it'd make any difference.
