Hello ladies,

Would those of you who have an angled extractor really recommend it?

What make do you have?

Are there any disadvantages?

Thanks

I have a Neff one. It’s great and I love it. Only disadvantage I can think of is that it’s not easy to clean the other side of the glass but that’s not helped by the fact that I have wall cupboards on both sides of the hood.

@QueenMabby is it black or stainless steel you have got? I was thinking about the cleaning aspect as well... But the look of the angled extractor... WOW!

Stainless steel with a glass angled bit. It does look stylish and it’s lovely that you don’t bash your head on it! Mine’s over 5 years old now but it’s sort of similar to this one...

We have a black glass Baumatic one. Looks great, although a lot of people think it's a TV! It opens for use and one of the hydraulic hinges failed within a few months. It was fixed under warranty and although annoying (you couldn't close it) it didn't affect its operation. It was the only one which would fit our space, which is unusual.

We have the Elica Ascent HE 90 in white. I much prefer the white to the black as they don't look like a strangely angled tv. I find this one easy to clean, it flashes at you once a month to remind you and then you just wash the filters in hot water and wipe it all over.

Black matches our other appliances and frankly I think it's strange that anyone thinks you'd put a TV above your hob, especially one with a chimney!

Haha @wowfudge, I can imagine some of my family might it is a TV!!!

I am struggling to find an adequately priced one... There is a HOTPOINT one I like, but it is 70db loud! That is crazy! I am expecting a baby, and with my new kitchen being open plan, I do not think it is a practical option at all. What do you ladies think?

What about your extractors? Do you find them extra noisy?

I have already overspent on my appliances, and if end up buying a £300+ one, my husband will kick me out of the house ha :D
