I remember reading ages ago about a tip to use a homemade solution in a Rug Doctor but I cannot find it anywhere. Any one know what it was? I think it might have been to use Persil non bio, or something similar 🤔

Small and Mighty

or you can find other brands of liquid for carpet shampooing machines at janitorial suppliers and some DIY outlets.

No doubt Rug Doctor will hold you responsible if you rent their machine and damage it.

Bicarbonate of soda worked into the carpet then add white vinegar to lift the stain (then small amount of washing powder in warm water to lift the smell of vinegar).

Home Bargains do a shampoo for Rug Doctor type machines, and I think it's about £1.40 from memory. We used it last time and it cleaned the carpets beautifully and didn't kill the machine!
