Hoping for some tips and advice. We have recently painted and stained the plain unfinished pine staircase in our house.
The spindles have been painted gloss white and we have stained (using ronseal wax) the handrail a walnut colour. It all looks lovely
However, the finish on the handrail is really dull. We put a furniture lacquer on over the stain (only as we happened to have some) but it was a Matt finish so hasn't done much
I've looked at gloss varnishes but I think that might be TOO shiney. I just want something to buff the handrail up! Any suggestions?
