Built in extractors! Has anyone got one?

No but my friend has just bought one from appliances direct, it's great.

caroletaxi · 23/02/2019 15:22

Don't you have to have special pans with an induction hob?

LovingLola · 23/02/2019 15:27

Yes we have one
Best thing ever

bebeboeuf · 23/02/2019 16:26

Love my induction. Didn't know you could get them with built in extractors. Sounds like great idea in theory!

Whyisitsodifficult · 23/02/2019 21:23

lovinglola what make do you have? How do they work, are they recirculating? 🤔

caroletaxi yes I believe you do need special pans.

We have a Bora.
I love not having an extractor hood over the hob.

scratchbass · 23/02/2019 21:28

You don't necessarily need new pans, we didn't. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan, then it will work on an induction hob.

MoBiroBo · 23/02/2019 21:29

I'd be terrified I would spill something down it as it is in the middle of the hob.

My induction hob is 60cm wide and I combine zones, I couldn't fit a 90cm hob in as my extractor is built into the cupboard above which was only available as a 60cm and it vents to the outside.

I think the built in extractors would make the hob much wider. I have just looked and they can be vented or recirculated but I wonder whether you would be able to have an oven underneath.

It lifts out and is washed in hot soapy water and back in situ in 1 minute !!

LovingLola · 23/02/2019 22:06

Just measured it. It’s 76cm by 52cm.
And the depth is 23cm.

LovingLola · 23/02/2019 22:07

I mean the complete surface of the hob is 76 by 52

Whyisitsodifficult · 23/02/2019 22:37

lovinglola it lifts out and washes! Sounds amazing! Is it effective and is it noisy?

OP posts:
LovingLola · 23/02/2019 23:53

It’s less noisy than a traditional extractor hood. And I find it’s really good at sucking in the steam !
Is there a kitchen showroom near you where you can have a look at one ?

Badgertastic · 24/02/2019 20:17

Can I ask which model you have? Thanks

Mummyilovejokes1 · 24/02/2019 20:33

Lovinglola we have also brought a bora and we intend on having it in our island. Where have you got yours and what storage do you have underneath?
I originally wanted a drawer underneath with an internal drawer but its too deep and wondered what set up others have with the Bora.

LovingLola · 24/02/2019 21:48

We have it on the worktop - not the island.
It’s 23cm deep. That 23cm is made up of a 15cm false front plus a sort of handle less piece that runs under the worktop. Under the 15 cm false drawer we have a proper drawer - also 15cm deep. That has utensils.
Under that we have a 40cm deep pot drawer. The drawers are 120cm wide.

LovingLola · 24/02/2019 21:50

Ours is the Bora Basic. If you look on YouTube you can see it working

Mummyilovejokes1 · 25/02/2019 21:21

Thanks loving, its a shame about having a false drawer, not something we considered when we brought the hob but cant wait to start using it. We also brought the bora basic.

Mummyilovejokes1 · 12/03/2019 20:20

@lovinglola can i ask what pans you brought to use on your Bora? The diameter seems quite small on the hob so when looking for pans to match there seems to be limited options....would be interested to see how you find your pans? Thanks Smile
