IWorktops/Mayflower Stone - any experiences?

Has anyone ever used Mayflower Stone or IWorktops for quartz/granite kitchen surfaces?

We were referred to Mayflower Stone by Units Online when we got a kitchen quote from them. The quote is IWorktops branded, which suggests they are the same company, or affiliated in some way.

They are by far the cheapest supplier for what we need, but I can't find any reviews of them at all, which makes me a bit nervous - it would be great to hear if anyone has any experience with them.

Friends of ours got their kitchen from Units On-line and their worktop from Mayflower Stone (sister companies I beleive) and are very happy with both. They had no issues with MS at all AFAIK.

We would have used MS too but lived too far away for it make sense money wise (factoring in their travel for templating etc.). We used GMQ marble instead. Almost £2K less than all other quotes.

Thanks, SorrelForbes - that's reassuring.

We're actually a long way from Mayflower's HQ, but even with the travel they're a third cheaper than out next best quote.

And just in case anyone else is wondering the same thing, I thought I would report back on my experiences.

The worktops got fitted today, and at this point, I am very pleased. The office especially were great to deal with - prompt, thorough and helpful responses to all my emails, phone calls answered quickly, and a general air of competence.

The fitters turned up on time both for template and fit, communication about this was again very good, and the fitters themselves were professional if a little distant. They have done what appears to be a very good job - the worktops look great, and the price was significantly cheaper than anywhere else I got quotes from.

I have used Mayflower Stone and their after sales is terrible. The Director and Ms Vanstorm are unreliable and very rude! Your better off avoiding them if you want to deal with a reliable supplier. I spent thousands on Caesarstone worktops where one slab was cut too short so they wanted to glue an extension where a joint would show, was not till I told them that I was going to refer it to a Solicitor that they saw sense.

They are cheap because their service is cheap like their mentality and commitment once you have handed your money to them
