KITCHEN MAKEOVER - Kitchen appliances - Lamona vs Electriq vs other brands

Hello everyone, need some advice from more experienced DIY'ers.

We are in the process of getting a new kitchen. Went for Howdens, as they provided the most practical and space-saving design, and we also heard many good recommendations.

Received our quote, managed to haggle down the price a bit, but I am still unsure about their Lamona appliances.

Our budget is quiet limited, but we would still want to get the best appliances for the price!

Any experience with Lamona or Electriq, or any other budget line appliances? Any regrets of getting a budge hob/oven/extractor? Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance :)

Lamona never get good reviews - I'd avoid. Shop around and look at Good Housekeeping and Which? reviews and ratings. Of the retailers, I think the reviews on Argos and ao.com's websites are useful because there usually lots which give you a good feel for what's good and bad about things.

Decide what appliances and models you want then shop around.

Get your appliances online yourself. You can read reviews for most products and source the best price. I wouldn't touch those brands.

@wowfudge and @flirtygirl thanks for your responses! We went for kitchen only, no appliances! Lamona range is quite limited as it is, so there was not a lot of flexibility. Will get my appliances online, hoping for a good deal :)

best to avoid those brands - better off going with budget version of better brands like bosch etc - or look on ebay for graded stock of well known brands or even nearly new used of a good make
