Would we be mad to move?

Opinions wanted please!

We have been living in our house for six years. We purchased it as an ex rental property as we lived the area and could see the house had potential to renovate into a nice family home.

We have ploughed a lot of money into renovating the house. We've just finished (as much as a house could ever be finished) and I thought this year we could finally relax and enjoy it.

However, we have seen a similar house in the area but this time with parking. It has potential too, but it would mean going back into years of renovating again.

There is a slightly separate issue that we've had a difficult few years, and (even though it's completely illogical) I feel our present house has brought us bad luck? That sounds ridiculous, but it's how I've felt for some time.

Would we be mad to move?

Well if you like DIY move to the other house, if you don't and feel that contributed to the difficult few years, sell up and move to house that doesn't require work.

But I would move out of the house you are in.

I lived in a house in a really horrible part of town, where we had seven break-ins in two years, for example. After three years, the worst families moved out of the area and it became a lot safer but I could never feel any affection for the house.
