Hi all,

Looking for comfy dining chairs but are ~affordable~

Had a look at IKEA - has anyone got any that are comfy?

Any suggestions, from anywhere? Thank you in advance!

Ebay? I've picked up loads of bargains locally.

We recently bought some from an auction house, 8 wooden chairs with woven seats for £200. They do vary in price but the auction house near us recently sold a Victorian set of 6 normal chairs & 2 carvers with upholstered seats for £30

I've got Ikea Henriksdal and they are really comfy. Good selection of colours. Covers can be machine washed. You can also buy replacement covers if you fancy a change. I've also bought the plain white covers (which are the cheapest) and dyed them to get a specific colour. I couldn't fault them.

My dd found 6 perfect ones for her kitchen/diner on Gumtree.
When she told me how much she'd paid, I thought she meant each - still cheap - but it was the whole lot!

She does Gumtree for all sorts.
You do usually have to collect, though.

We have 6 wheel back solid oak chairs (two have arms) from the charity shops, cost £60 for the lot. Dh sanded them down as they were very dark, then put a nice clear coat on them, they are bloody lovely.
Took us a few months of regular visits to find wood chairs we liked.
We got the matching table from a different shop £20.
