WWYD with this fireplace?

Hi,

Planning on totally revamping our front room.

New Kardean oak effect floors. Sage green ish wall colour with papered alcoves.

Need a new fireplace and surround.

Literally no clue what to put in.

Drawn to pics (to follow) on Pinterest.

Don’t want a wood burner as too expensive and house is very warm anyway!

Please help!

Next stage - floor and to decorate before built in cabinet goes in alcove to right hand side then pretty bit’s ❤️

Looks fab! Is that a new fireplace or did you paint the old one?

Reconditioned eBay fireplace and mantel. New riven slate hearth.

@user1497787065 I know your post was a while ago but this thread has just popped back up, what paint did you use for the marble. I have a hideous marble fireplace/hearth and don’t want to spend a fortune replacing it but I didn’t know I could paint it!

Sorry for the delay in responding I had to confer with the decorator! So, sand, clean and then prime with Zinsser 123 tinted close to the top coat colour. Then 2 coats of eggshell to finish. Hope that makes sense to you.
