Separate WC or knockthrough ?

We have a 4 bed house, quite large downstairs and WC downstairs. Upstairs one bedroom is ensuite but family bathroom is a separate WC with sink and bath/shower in next room, non structural wall between rooms.

I am wondering whether to knock the WC and bathroom into one room? From our perspective would be bigger room about 3.1m wide by 1.5m deep although it is slightly deeper in one corner. I think could possibly fit a corner quadrant shower, separate bath , Wc and toilet in there but due to depth it won’t be the biggest bathroom. I reckon cost will be in region of £7.5k. I am wondering what others would think about having separate WC vs family bathroom? For us there is only 3 of us and 3 toilets in the house so does not bother us that we have an extra toilet . I am more curious as to what larger families would prefer?

I would knock through. At the moment you haven't got what most would consider a family bathroom. Stick with the current lay out and it looks like you haven't been bothered to modernise, even if new fittings.

I would knock through given you already have an additional toilet downstairs.
