New bathroom - where to start?

We have a large bathroom that has taken a beating these past few years and now looks like a building site. I'd like to get new toilet, sink, and separate bath and shower. I also need help fitting it...

Where can I go for the whole lot, rather than buying bits here and there and not getting the right plumbing because I don't know what I'm doing, plus the bath will need to be moved and the flooring repared, etc etc.... Help!

Most bathroom suppliers can arrange everything for you. Or get a builder and buy the items separately. We have done both but the second option was used because we were remodelling the house. We have used small family type firms when it’s just been one bathroom and they always know trades. However always check prices for sanitary ware. It can vary a lot.

I will ask around for a trusted builder, that might be better than a national firm....?

We went to a local bathroom supply company, got to know them, asked their advice and they recommended a couple of local fitters. The one we chose has been brilliant - he ended up doing both bathrooms and our kitchen for us, as well as doing all kinds of extra jobs because they were here. And we got his trade discount for the sanitaryware and tiles so value for money was great.

I'd really recommend forging relationships with local tradespeople.
