Just that really. Nest or Hive? Are there any others worth considering?

I don’t know much about these but our builders just recommended Heatmiser.

PurpleWithRed · 06/02/2019 00:14

Tado, if everyone in your house has a smartphone. Love ours. It senses when everyone is out and turns the heating off, senses when you are close to home or at home and turns it on again. Love ours.

Not Hivem it’s a pain in the arse. Keeps going down and then the figures in the app are not the same as on the thermostat.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/02/2019 07:04

I've had a Netatmo and a Hive. The Hive is annoying. The Netatmo was cheaper and better; more intuitive and easier to connect and deal with through Amazon Echo.

cc4490 · 06/02/2019 07:10

The nest is apparently easier to set up than the hive,
The Drayton wiser and Honeywell evo home are really good.

Runningintothesunset · 06/02/2019 07:24

We have the Tado one - we installed it ourselves relatively easily (so no need to pay for installation) and the auto turn off when you’re all out is ace

polkadotspot · 06/02/2019 07:25

I have the Honeywell T6 Lyric and love it!

2choose · 06/02/2019 07:53

We have a nest and that also links into the phones. Works well and no complaints.

Thanks everyone for your input Smile

I have a Drayton Wiser system. Really pleased with it. Cheaper than many of the alternatives and was very simple to install. They have thermostatic radiator valves which gives you a lot more control than a simple 'smart thermostat' system.

Wistfulthinking · 06/02/2019 14:13

We have Heatmiser and it works very well.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 06/02/2019 14:16

We've got Honeywell love it

AgeingDurannie · 06/02/2019 14:19

Have had both Hive and Nest and IMO Hive is better.

BubblesBuddy · 06/02/2019 14:31

We are happy with our Hive.

AlanThePig · 06/02/2019 15:54

We also have Tado, and normally I'd recommend it but I believe there is now a charge for new customers.

Herbyvor · 06/02/2019 15:56

We have nest, it was installed in a house that we bought, been fine, customer service were very good when I was struggling to move the account over. It’s an older model but runs very well, I love being able to pre set everything from my phone.

faustina · 06/02/2019 20:42

I've had a Nest for four years now and love it - best thermostat I've ever had!

ThanksItHasPockets · 06/02/2019 20:54

We have a Netatmo. Relatively simple to install (two wires) and compatible with Amazon Echo and Apple HomeKit. We’re very pleased with it.

gaggiagirl · 13/02/2019 19:56

We have a nest and absolutely love it. It looks beautiful. It learns our routines. Knows when we are home or away. It's voice controlled through alexa. Just love it.

Owloft · 13/02/2019 20:39

I've got a hive. It's always telling me the temperature is about 2 degrees hotter than what it actually is, and it's very slow to update the temperature when you move into a room that is cooler etc.

TortoiseLettuce · 13/02/2019 20:43

I don’t like the idea of a thermostat being able to turn the heating on when it feels like it. It could come on when we’re out and cook the dog. Or it could come on at night and cook small DC. There was an article in the news about a kid who died without even waking because the bedroom got too hot.

WhoNose88 · 14/02/2019 00:40

We've got a Nest learning thermostat and it's brilliant.

BrusselPout · 14/02/2019 08:07

Not hive, I detest it - the thermostat gets through batteries like nobodies business and the thermostat keeps disconnecting
