New Kitchen - Hacker

Anyone had a Hacker German kitchen, are they expensive? Decided to go in the posh kitchen shop after having eye watering quotes from Magnet and Wickes and want to compare prices, thinking if we pay a bit more at posh kitchen shop we will get a better kitchen & service after having read reviews about both Magnet and Wickes, I would struggle to part with the cash.

Any information greatly appreciated.

Our quote for hacker was 4x the benchmarx/howdens quote..... so yes, pricey! Beautiful though....

Gold - thanks for the info - was that just comparing the units or complete kitchen with appliances?

We considered the Hacker Systemat range (it is not so expensive here, more mid-range) and were quite happy with it. In the end we went for Pronorm because we liked the slimmer door edges. We also looked at Schuller, another German brand in the same range. The price was about double the Ikea option but the quality is totally different. I think 12k instead of 6k excluding installation and appliances for a very large kitchen. It's not been installed yet so can't comment on that!

We have a Howdens kitchen and it’s solidly made, looks good and still as new 5 years on with a young family.

We have just used Wickes for our bathrooms. Disgusting service. The installations took nearly 4 months instead of the 2-3 weeks they promised. Also disappointed with the quality of the fitments.

My daughter has Howdens units in her utility room. Very good quality.

We went for a Kuhlmann kitchen - not sure but think most of these german makes are similar in price / quality - so go for style you like - ours didnt come out much more than the Magnet quote plus our local shop did everythjng fitting wise
