Hi my back boiler is working fine but the fireplace has been condemned. I want to remove the fire altogether and just have the back boiler. The back boiler is ugly. Can I put a fake wooden surround around the whole ie attached to the wall and just put a mesh fireguard on the hearth in front (but not up close as I know it needs ventilation) please? My gas man removed the fireplace but put it back as it was ugly without it. Thank you so much.
