Are bathroom sink mixer tap holes universal size???

So we have just had the bathroom mostly re-done but we are keeping the old pedestal basin. The existing mixer tap is leaking, therefore we need to get a new one. Before I go ahead and order online (already know I want a Hansgrohe mixer to match the rest of the bathroom and shower taps!) - are mixer tap holes generally a universal size??? It was a bit tricky to try and measure it.

I've attached a picture!!

For anyone who saw my other threads... the floor tile restoration did not work!! Having luxury vinyl tiles laid in a couple of weeks Blush

I would have thought so as usually you buy the basin with the tap hole already made and then can choose your own tap. you should be fine with any mixer tap.

Hansgrohe taps like high pressure though (2 bar min) so if yours is rubbish you may be better off with a British make like Crosswater.

I thought so too. Went ahead and bought a replacement tap, unwrapped it to admire, threw away box to await plumber, only to find out the tap was too “skinny” for the hole! Had to buy a chunkier tap and couldn’t return the other one. The skinny tap didn’t leave enough of a lip over the basin hole apparently so could be prone to leaks, unless lots of sealant used which I’m not keen on.
