What off we for this house?

Hi everyone

I know this is a how long is a piece of string question but we are looking to move house and have seen some town houses that we might go and see. There are 4 of them currently on the market all on the same new build estate although these particular houses are about 10 years old. They've been for sale for a little while. All of them are around the 230 mark.

Really we can only afford to go to 205, would it be silly to even go and see them if we can't afford anywhere near the asking price?

This is one of the houses:

I think the layout would generally put a lot of people off, and the estate is still being expanded so lots of new houses still going up. However they were also bought for around 200 by the sellers.

Any thoughts? I know that really if we liked it there would be no harm in putting in a cheeky offer but does anyone think that this would be justified?

Thanks

Of all the houses for sale, I'd say that was the worst one because the garden is entirely in shade. It's clearly empty and has probably been a rental so there may be a deal to be done.

Oh really tenapenny! That is a funny coinsidence. I did think exactly the same about the seller having bought it for 200k so probably wouldn't be willing to sell for that low. Also thought exactly the same about the garden, there seem to be 4 identical properties on the market in coopers edge so I don't know if those gardens are any better. Did you view any of the others?

Interesting about the redundancies, realistically we aren't quite ready to put in an offer so I will see what happens.

I had noticed the one you've linked had sold for 200k, that was another reason I thought the 205 mark might be realistic for the others. You're right it's much nicer though!

Wowfudge yes you're right, I just shared the link for the first one that came up, I would be interested in seeing all of them. But realistically if having a small dark garden will bring the house down to our price bracket then I would seriously consider it.

A small dark garden is bliss on a hot summer's day, so no all bad.

theninkynonkgarden We were seriously thinking about offering on the house that sold for £200K, but in the end didn’t. Our budget was a bit higher around £225K and we actually really liked some of the “mock-Georgian” style town houses there, and were mostly viewing those, but they are a bit more pricy as well.

All things considered, if you can wait, wait a bit more. They are not exactly flying off the shelf.
