Four new arras rails and approx 60 planks. Half 5 ft half 3ft. Two bays including labour and rubbish removal. I just had a quote. What would you expect to pay?

£1000

Alexalee · 29/01/2019 16:45

250

LaurieFairyCake · 29/01/2019 16:50

That's one days work so should be £400 ish plus materials

But it's London innit and I'm guessing it's more like £1400

Go on rated people to get someone cheaper and brilliant - I'm in London, got my whole place wallpapered for £1200 when I was quoted £4K Shock

Thank you! To be clear the stakes are staying in the ground, it is just the arris rails and slats being replaced. Also, we are not planning on doing the bevelling again. Just one high fence, one low. Do you think it'll look much worse?

I clearly need to get a few quotes -all so different!

That would take a competent diyer a couple of hours max and the materials are less than 100... any more than 250 is too much

KTD27 · 29/01/2019 18:14

We were quoted 3 grand for ours. For a FENCE! we did not replace it

fannyanddick · 29/01/2019 19:24

Thank you. Very helpful. We were quoted £400. I looked at materials and looked about £150.

Though actually quote did include putting a few bricks back up on a wall.

400 is a bit expensive but with a few extras not ridiculous
