I've just had a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i combi boiler installed in my 3 bed Edwardian terrace. It keeps turning on and off (short cycling) before the desired room temperature is reached. I've been told that this is because I'm only using between 2-3 radiators out of a possible 10 and the boiler switches off because there's nowhere to send the hot water. I live on my own so don't want to heat unused rooms.
Short cycling is apparently bad - it causes wear and tear of the boiler and increased fuel costs. What do I do? Turn on loads of radiators and heat rooms I don't use to stop the cycling or live with the short cycling and its implications? If I'd known abou this I would have kept my old boiler! What do people in flats use? This boiler is one is one of the smallest on the market.
