4 beds, 2 baths - is a cylinder + boiler the only option?

Starting to plan kitchen extension and loft conversion and as part of that we are planning on replacing our old boiler. The architect has mentioned Megaflo style systems to maintain the pressure if all showers/washer/dishwasher are running at the same time. But it seems like a massive system to add into the space somehow. Is it possible for a really good combi to cope with that kind of usage?

no.

So a megaflo type of system is really the best plan then?

Almost certainly. If you are having a kitchen extension built, you can include a cupboard for the unvented cylinder to go in, close to the plumbing duct.

Verify that you have an excellent incoming water supply. If not, this is a good time to lay a new pipe all the way to the stopcock or water meter under the pavement. If you have to replace lead pipes the water co may have have a special offer.
